Classical Music Now

The Social Network for Classical Music Fans

I've set it up, so that if you add a link to an MP3 it'll come with a player using the Del.icio.us playtagger. Here's an example, one of my compositions, Erg:

Erg for Mandolin and Guitar - Performed by Duo Ahlert und Schwab

You can change your own page settings with the Theme link beneath your picture. Dragging around chunks of the content in the middle lets you rearrange the content design of your page.

There are two sub-groups I just set up here. Books and What's Cooking. You can set up your own sub-groups too. You can also link to videos or off-site MP3's here. You can upload them too, but I'd prefer we not upload too many things as if it gets over 10GB here I have to start paying for storage $10 a month. Ugh...

Please invite any other classical music fans you'd like to join us here with the Invite button on the right.

Your piece, Erg, is beautiful! Mysterious and dramatic and moving, some sections tender, and others tense and anxious....altogether a great balance of contrasting material. Thank you for posting the MP3.

Thanks Charles! The performers, Duo Ahlert und Schwab are the real magicians here, though. They're fantastic!

I think this is the appropriate place to add this type of information. I happen to be an avid collector, but there are a few holes in my collection of music. There are a couple of sites that I am willing to let everyone in on. The first is a collection of classical music: http://cocoa.fbk.eu:8282/ The second is for anyone who might be an organ affecionado: http://www.virtuallybaroque.com/index.html The third is a vast archive: http://www.classicalarchives.com/ I have pretty much exhausted these sites for my own collection and looking for some other sites which have mp3's which should fill my holes. If anyone has knowledge where I might be able to find recordings of the earlier symphonies of Mozart or Haydn, I would very much appreciate it.
