Thanks for visiting my personal page at Classical Music Fans! I have been a fan of classical music since I was a teenager in the 1970s. None of my friends listened to classical music then and I still have no friends who listen to classical music. I was guided and influenced to listen to classical music by listening to progressive rock music. Groups like YES, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull, Genesis etc. all were influenced by classical music and tried to incorporate that into their music.
My tastes in classical have varied over the years as my ear listening has matured. Early on I was a huge fan of composers like Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Haydn, Bethoven etc. but as I have gotten older I have found myself venturing into listening to more obscure composers like Kalinikov, Halverson, Howard Hanson, Glazanov, Raff, Martinu and various others. My very favorites of all time and who I find myself coming back to again and again are: Sibelius, Mahler, Beethoven, Dvorak, Shumann, Aaron Copeland, and Brahms.
Besides classical music I am a huge fan of classic movies from Hollywood's Golden Age and I run a social network for classic movie fans called The Golden Age of Hollywood. If you like classic movies feel free to join. Here is a link:
