Classical Music Now

The Social Network for Classical Music Fans

Hi, I'm a composer and a 'retired' web programmer who only programs now for fun. I studied at Juilliard with some of the best American composers ever, Elliott Carter and Roger Sessions but I ended up rejecting modernism almost completely, except as a kind of spice.

My music page.

I give away all of my recordings and my scores for free, hoping to help them find good homes, in people's ears and in their imaginations. We now live on Sanibel Island off the western tip of south Florida. It's a gorgeous world of sub-tropical nature we've moved to after living in New York City for 20+ years.

My music is very powerful rhythmically, influenced by my home town, New Orleans (although I was brought up in North Florida and New Orleans). It uses classical formal processes, counterpoint, traditional climaxes but has dissonances one might find in jazz or Stravinsky or Bartok. I hope you'll check it out someday!

Hey, Jeff
That's really neat you studied at Julliard. As a young clarinetist it was my dream to go there. I ended up studying fashion design at FIT (27th and 7th). During undergrad I'd always walk over to Juilliard to hang out with the kids there. I enjoyed listening to them practice. Your music sounds interesting as I am a big Stravinsky fan. Cheers!
